No Cabinet Berth For Defeated MLAs!

The reports that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to expand his council of ministers on December 18 has created hopes to several ministerial aspirants.

Though there were reports that KCR’s close friend and former minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao would be inducted into the cabinet, the chief minister reportedly made it clear that there was no question of giving cabinet berths to defeated MLAs.

He, however, assured the defeated seniors like Tummala and former Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary, that their services would be suitably recognized at a later stage.

It is learnt KCR is planning to induct some new faces, while retaining of some of the ministers in the previous cabinet.

Among the new ministers whose names are in circulation in the party circles, the names of newly-elected Chennur MLA Balka Suman, who has hitherto been an MP from Peddapalli, Patnam Narender Reddy who defeated A Revanth Reddy in Kodangal, S Niranjan Reddy from Wanaparthy, Sanjay Kumar from Jagitial who defeated K Jeevan Reddy and Errabelli Dayakar Rao from Palakurthy are being heard.

The chief minister might retain several ministers like Nayini Narasimha Reddy, K Laxma Reddy, Etela Rajender and of course, K T Rama Rao and T Harish Rao. However, Kadiyam Srihari is unlikely to get the cabinet post, as the TRS chief is planning to field him in Lok Sabha elections.

Among the three women MLAs who got elected, Padma Devender Reddy might be accommodated in the cabinet, sources said.
