Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is learnt to have taken the contest of Nandamuri Suhasini from Kukatpally very prestigiously, as any defeat for the NTR family will have serious impact on the party prospects in Andhra Pradesh as well.
He reportedly told the party leaders in Telangana to go all out for the victory of Suhasini and move all the resources to Kukatpally.
NTR’s family members will anyway campaign for her – if necessary even Jr NTR and Kalyanram will take a day break from their busy schedule to campaign for her.
And if there is a possibility, Naidu will also make a whirlwind tour in Kukatpally, say party sources.
Already, Suhasini began the door-to-door campaign in the constituency evincing a lot of curiosity among the voters.
She filed nomination as TDP candidate from Kukatpalli constituency in Hyderabad for Assembly elections in Telangana on Saturday.
Even if the TDP will be able to win at least three or four seats in Telangana, it would give a lot of strength to the party.
The victory of Suhasini will also give a lot of boost to the party cadre, who have been demanding for quite some that the party should be led by a person from Nandamuri family. In addition, the migrants from AP in Telangana will support the party again.
Naidu feels Suhasini’s victory will also bring Nandamuri and Nara families together, thereby isolating Daggubati Purandeswari, daughter of TDP founder NT Rama Rao, who joined the BJP and has been attacking Naidu.
Analysts say Naidu can also balance the influence of Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan on the public by promoting Jr NTR in AP.
Though Suhasini confined to Telangana, the TDP could use the services of Jr NTR in AP at appropriate time, says a senior leader from the party.
