Naidu more interested in MLA seats than funds!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to be more interested in getting the number of MLA seats increased, rather than lobbying for more funds for the state.

This was alleged by Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president N Raghuveera Reddy.

He said Naidu, in collusion with Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu were putting more efforts on increasing the number of MLAs rather than striving to implement the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act.

“They are more focused on reaping political benefits rather than fighting for genuine rights of the State,” he alleged.

He strongly condemned the way the ruling party was throwing its weight behind the elections in Nandyal.

“Even the Congress will be fighting for the seat, but without much hullaballoo. We shall speak on the matter, after the election notification is announced,” he said.

While referring to the incident where 16 tribals died after drinking contaminated water in Rampachodavaram, Raghuveera charged that the current TDP government was slowly turning itself into anti Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

He said that in other places like Manyam near Vizag, cases of dengue and anthrax were on rise, reflecting the government’s apathy.

Blaming Naidu for the deaths of tribals, he demanded that the government clarify the ex-gratia announced for the tribals, as the Chief Minister and Home Minister were issuing contradictory statements.

He demanded that the government should announce an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh. Raghuveera expressed concern over the growing atrocities against SCs and STs in the state.
