Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is hell bent on defeating firebrand former MLA from Kodangal and Telangana PCC working president A Revanth Reddy at any cost.
After seeing the massive turnout of crowds at Revanth’s road show at Kodangal three days ago when he filed the nomination, KCR is learnt to have instructed that the TRS should take the victory in Kodangal as a matter of prestige and leaders should go all out to win the seat.
While pumping in crores of rupees for electioneering in Kodangal, KCR has instructed his son and minister K T Rama Rao to personally oversee the TRS campaign in the constituency.
On Wednesday, KTR conducted a big road show in Kodangal, taking Revanth by horns in his own bastion.
KTR challenged Revanth saying he would quit politics, if the Congress party came to power in the assembly elections.
“Will you also quit the politics, if the Congress doesn't win the next elections?” he asked.
He ridiculed that the Congress had four CM aspirants in every district.
“Do you want a chief minister who is appointed by Delhi through a sealed cover? Or a lion like KCR as the CM? Do you accept a leader who is appointed either in Delhi or in Amaravati?” he asked.
Accusing Revanth of stalling all the developmental works in Kodangal to deny advantage to the TRS, KTR said: “Revanth is just a show man. He has done nothing except putting up shows in television channels. He has never brought anything to Kodangal. If TRS wins, we shall bring Krishna waters to Kodangal. If you vote for TRS candidate, I will adopt this constituency as my own,” he said.
