KCR's early poll talk only to mislead Cong?

KCR's early poll talk only to mislead Cong?

The ongoing talk doing rounds in the media circles over the conduct of early assembly elections in Telangana is being taken with a pinch of salt by sceptics who are wondering whether this talk is just a part of the strategy on the part of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to mislead the opposition Congress party and fooling the people.

According these sceptics, KCR actually has no plans to dissolve the assembly and go in for early elections but floating the idea of early polls, he wants to send a message to the leaders of the opposition parties that they should hurry up to join the TRS.

“His main idea is to convey to the opposition party leaders, particularly the Congress leaders, that there is very little time left for the elections and it is time for them to decide on joining the Congress party and whoever comes first would get the party ticket. His announcement that he would declared the candidates’ list in September should also be viewed in that angle,” a political observer said.

At the emergency cabinet meeting, KCR reportedly took the suggestions of the ministers on early polls without disclosing his mind.

“Nobody can guess what is in his mind and what is in store for us in future,” a party leader said.

KCR, however, has decided to go ahead with the conduct of massive public meeting in the name of “Pragathi Nivedana” (Presentation of Progress Report) at Kongara Kalan on the outskirts of Hyderabad as scheduled at 4 pm on September 2.

He reportedly directed all the party leaders to make arrangements for the success of the meeting.

He called for an executive committee meeting of the TRS at Telangana Bhavan on Friday to finalise the details of the public meeting, party sources said.
