Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has finally decided to take the help of Dubai in developing Smart Cities in Hyderabad, as he did not get the required response from Singapore, which is keen on construction of new capital of Andhra Pradesh.
Initially, KCR made a visit to Singapore and requested its government to help in reconstruction of Telangana, including development of smart cities. However, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who has strong connections with Singapore, hijacked KCR’s plan and got the Singapore government to focus on development of the new AP capital. As a result, KCR has shifted his focus to Dubai.
On Wednesday, KCR’s son and Minister for Information Technology and Panchayat Raj K T Rama Rao held discussions with a delegation of Dubai businessmen about the government’s plans to construct “Smart Cities” in Telangana State.
He is understood to have sought Dubai team cooperation to transforming the new State into a Golden Telangana with “Smart Cities”.
The meeting assumes significance as Dubai is dotted with smart and enticing buildings on the shore and the team is likely to provide logistical and technical knowhow to Telangana Government.
Further, the minister apprised the team of prestigious schemes of skyscrapers around historic Hussain Sagar, level separators and multiple roads in Hyderabad for traffic ease, construction of pharma city and film city, techno parks.
It is also learnt that the minister touched upon the schemes such as ambitious Telangana Water Grid aimed at providing safe and potable drinking waters to people across the State, Lakes restoration through Mission Kakatiya and Greenery program of Harithaharm and others.
