KCR wants Ponguleti, Jupally back in BRS, Harish given task!

KCR wants Ponguleti, Jupally back in BRS, Harish given task!

Going by the latest political developments in Telangana, following the spectacular victory of Congress in the Karnataka Assembly polls, the BRS leadership is reportedly making efforts to bring former BRS top leaders, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, back into BRS.

BRS President and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has reportedly assigned the task of readmitting Ponguleti and Jupally into BRS to his nephew and minister T. Harish Rao, who is known as a "trouble-shooter" in BRS.

It may be recalled that KCR suspended former Khammam MP Ponguleti and former minister Jupally from BRS last month on April 9, after they made public statements against the BRS government and CM KCR.

While Ponguleti has a stronghold on the undivided Khammam district, Jupally enjoys political clout in the undivided Mahabubnagar district.

There were speculations that both these leaders would join BJP after they were suspended from BRS, but it did not happen.

With Congress winning the Karnataka Assembly polls with a bumper majority, it is widely believed that the Karnataka victory will help Congress bounce back in Telangana. Against this backdrop, Ponguleti and Jupally reportedly changed their plans to join BJP and instead prefer to join Congress.

KCR strongly feels that since both these leaders are yet to join any party, BRS still has the opportunity to convince them to rejoin BRS. He is worried that BRS's prospects in both these districts will be badly damaged if they join Congress or BJP.

KCR is reportedly planning to offer a BRS ticket to Ponguleti to contest either the Lok Sabha election or the Assembly election in Khammam district if he returns to the party. Similarly, KCR is ready to offer the Kollapur Assembly seat to Jupally if he rejoins BRS.

Harish was asked to approach both these leaders with these offers and ensure their rejoining BRS.

But the million-dollar question is whether both these leaders will agree to rejoin BRS after facing severe humiliation in BRS for the last four years. Anything is possible in politics. Let's see.
