The Telangana Government on Monday issued orders for the payment of Rs 10 lakh assistance to the families of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for achieving statehood for Telangana.
The government had approved the scheme of provision of Rs. 10 lakhs as monetary assistance to each of the bereaved families, who have sacrificed their lives for achieving Statehood of Telangana in Telangana State.
All the District Collectors in the state were asked to verify and furnish information of all such cases falling in their respective districts. Accordingly, the district collectors have so far identified and furnished 459 such families.
"To that extent, Government has decided to pay Rs. 10 lakhs as monetary assistance to the families of Telangana Martyrs from Chief Minister Relief Fund," the GO Ms No 36 issued by the Revenue (FF) Department said.
Of 459 matyrs recognised, 164 hailed from Karimnagar, 91 from Warangal, 52 from Medak, 48 hailed from Nalgonda, 31 from Nizamabad, 26 from Adilabad, 17 each from Rangareddy and Mahabubnagar, 11 from Hyderabad and two hailed from Khammam district.
