Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao appears to be wooing senior Congress MLA and former minister J Geetha Reddy, one of the most powerful leaders of the Congress, into the TRS fold.
Geetha Reddy on Monday called on the Chief Minister at the Secretariat here triggering wide spread political speculations.
Apparently, KCR is looking for a strong Dalit leader in Medak district, which is dominated by Velamas in the party.
KCR sought to pamper Geetha Reddy by readily agreeing to her demand to observe officially the death anniversary of late RPI leader and Telangana stalwart Eshwari Bai on February 24. Eshwari Bai was Geetha Reddy’s mother.
KCR said Eshwari Bai’s biography would be included in Telangana Curriculum.
Eshwari Bai is noted for delivering inspiring speeches during 1969 Telangana movement, he noted. Eshwari Bai strived hard for the cause of the Telangana statehood, he added.
