KCR Off To China, Suicides Continue

Even as more and more farmers are committing suicide with every passing day, Telanagana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao flew to China in a special aircraft by spending huge amount from State exchequer, in the name of mobilizing investments to the State.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday alleged that suicides of the farmers in the State were increasing day after day due to criminal neglect and apathy of the TRS government towards farmers.

Participating in dharna at Mahbubnagar on Monday as part of the party’s Statewide protest program in front of the Collectorates against “anti-people policies of the TRS government”, Uttam Kumar lamented that the people were facing severe drought and drinking water scarcity in the State.

He also said the China tour of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will not be useful to the State in any manner.

In Hyderabad, former minister Danam Nagender warned the TRS leaders to behave properly else they will have to face troubles after losing power.

Danam alleged that the TRS leaders were harassing the Congress leaders and physically attacked even the Congress MLA when the latter questioned the ZP Chairman.

Danam asked whether it was correct on the part of the Chief Minister to visit China at this juncture where stock markets were facing troubles now.

The Congress leaders tried lay a siege to the Ranga Reddy district Collectorate protesting against the TRS government’s negligent attitude towards farmers’ problems.

In Khammam, TPCC working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and MLA Puvvada Ajay participated in the dharna. Alleging that “anarchic” rule was going on in Telangana State, they warned the Chief Minister of dire consequences if he failed to mend his dictatorial attitude. They also slammed KCR for ignoring the suicides of the farmers.

In Karimnagar, senior Congress leaders T Jeevan Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, DCC president Katakam Mrityunjayam participated in the maha dharna at Vemulavada. Speaking on the occasion, they criticized the attitude of KCR towards farmers.

In Medak, Congress activists staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate office. Senior leaders V Hanumanth Rao, Sunitha Laxma Reddy, Jagga Reddy and others joined the protest. The police arrested them and whisked them away to the local police station. However, they were released later.
