Senior Congress leader and former minister D K Aruna on Monday alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who had proclaimed that he would transform Hyderabad into a Health Hub, changed it into an ‘Anarogya Hub’.
Speaking to the media, Aruna expressed concern over the cheap liquor policy of the government by saying that the youth would become alcoholics with the availability of cheap liquor, which is highly harmful to health.
She alleged that the Chief Minister, who failed to curb illicitly distilled liquor was bringing cheap liquor and endangering the lives of the poor people and youth.
She also asked whether the government would drink blood of the poor people for the sake of earning Rs 5,000-crore revenue.
She also charged the government with trying to supply cheap liquor to every village instead of providing potable drinking water taps.
She also argued that with introduction of cheap liquor, the atrocities against women will increase further creating a law and order problem.
She also warned the Chief Minister that women would revolt against the government for ruining their lives by making available cheap liquor.
