KCR Cries Foul Over Deletion Of Voters!

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who was voted back to power in the recent assembly elections in the state with a thumping majority, is not happy with the mandate given by the people.

He seems to be under the impression that the people of Telangana were extremely happy with his government in the last four and a half years and therefore, his party should have won more than 100 seats in the 119-member assembly.

The TRS had won 88 assembly seats in the elections and so, something had gone wrong in the voting.

After deeply analysing the results, the TRS president has come to the conclusion that the large scale deletion of voters by the Election Commission during the summary revision of the voters’ list could be the reason for the TRS not getting more than 100 assembly seats.

So, on Thursday, KCR met chief election commissioner Sunil Arora and complained that lakhs of names of voters were deleted from the electoral list during the recent elections and it caused immense loss to the TRS.

He asked the CEC to look into the issue and restore all the missing names at least before the Lok Sabha elections.

Ironically, the TRS president did not utter a word when the Telangana Congress leaders were crying foul before the elections over deletion of as many as 21 lakh voters from the electoral list in the state this year, compared to 2014.

There were about 2.81 crore voters in 2014 elections. However, as per the electoral rolls published by the Election Commission on India on September 1, 2018, their number has reduced to 2.60 crore.

When the Congress leaders moved the high court and then Supreme Court, the TRS leaders ridiculed them saying the Congress party was afraid of facing the elections. They even alleged that the Congress was trying to get the elections postponed.

Now that the TRS won the elections, they are raising the issue of bogus voters!
