KCR Acknowledges Komatireddy As MLA!

At last, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao acknowledged that Congress MLA from Nalgonda Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is a member of the state assembly.

In a surprising development, KCR wrote a letter to Komatireddy greeting the latter on his birthday on Wednesday.

“My heartfelt greetings to you. I pray the god to bless you with a blissful and healthy life for 100 years so that you can serve the people with full vigour,” KCR said in the letter.

At the bottom of the letter and also on the cover, KCR mentioned Komatireddy as Hon’ble MLA, Nalgonda assembly constituency.

Displaying the letter to the media, Komatireddy said he was very much thankful to the chief minister for greeting him on his birthday.

“I am also grateful that he has finally acknowledged me as an MLA. At the same time, I am surprised why his government has not restored all the facilities to be given to an MLA, including protocol and security. I request him to see that I get all the privileges of an MLA,” he said.

It may be mentioned that Komatireddy and another Congress MLA from Alampur S A Sampath Kumar were expelled from the assembly for throwing headphone at the podium on the first day of the budget session of the assembly in February.

Both the MLAs moved the high court and after prolonged hearing, the court revoked their expulsion.

Yet, the government has not so far acknowledged them as MLAs. Moreover, the TRS MLAs moved the high court challenging the earlier verdict. The case is still pending in the court.
