With the top leadership of the Lok Satta striking a dissident note, the founder-president of Lok Satta has appointed new president for the Andhra and Telangana wings of the Party after removing the current office bearers.
While announcing the interim office bearers for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Jayaprakash Narayan said: “We are pained with the behaviour of senior party members who have gone public with internal matters and forced this action. No one is indispensable. The party is bigger than the individuals and the nation is bigger than the party. Loksatta will march ahead with momentum as the platform for the young people of India. National president Surendra Srivastava and his national team will take the party forward. This matter is closed.”
Normally, infighting is witnessed in those Parties that have a lot of financial clout and are politically active. But Lok Satta does not have even a single representative in the Assembly or Parliament with JP himself losing in the recent polls.
Against this backdrop, JP must be pleased that his own Party leaders still care enough about the image they have through their association with Lok Satta to be indulging in bickering.
