Jana Reddy To Join TRS?

Jana Reddy To Join TRS?

If rumours in political circles are to be believed, former minister and Congress senior leader K Jana Reddy may join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the next few days.

According to sources, Jana Reddy has apparently accepted the offer of TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao to join the party.

Jana Reddy is unhappy with the Congress party after it denied him the post of Telangana PCC President. He openly expressed his resentment and even went to New Delhi to lodge a protest before the Congress High Command.

However, his displeasure touched its peak when Union Minister Jairam Ramesh announced that a Dalit leader would be made the first Chief Minister of Telangana if Congress comes to power.

Since the post of PCC President has already been allotted to Ponnal Lakshmaiah, a BC leader, he was expecting the Congress party to consider his candidature for the CM's post due to his seniority and role during Telangana movement. But the party's inclination towards the SCs has eroded his hopes of getting a top post even after elections.

Taking advantage of the situation, the TRS President reportedly invited him to join the TRS, which he agreed to consider. However, he is yet to take a final decision in this regard.

Along with Jana Reddy, a group of senior leaders from Nalgonda district are also likely to join the TRS along with Jana Reddy. They include Congress MP Komatireddy Rajagopal, his brother and MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Nakrekal MLA Lingaiah and Aleru MLA Bikshmaiah Goud. This group is reportedly unhappy with the elevation of Uttam Kumar Reddy to the post of Working President of TPCC.

Sources say that these leaders including Jana Reddy and Komatireddy brothers would join the TRS by March 25.
