The “flash survey” conducted by Andhra Jyothy indicating that if elections are held now, Telugu Desam Party would retain power by winning 120 out of 175 assembly seats, has failed to perturb the opposition, headed by YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Jagan, who had a meeting with senior leaders of the party at Lotus Pond, said to have laughed it off the survey of Andhra Jyothy.
“We cannot expect a better report from Radhakrishna. He is trying to create the impression that all is well for the TDP. This is nothing but restoring their sagging morale. Let us ignore it and focus on our work. There is anti-establishment everywhere and we have to capitalise on it,” he is learnt to have said.
A survey conducted by the YSRC in the past indicated that the party would win more than 100 seats, if mid-term elections are held now.
Even an independent survey conducted by Naidu’s own daughter-in-law Brahmani did not give more than 60 seats to the TDP, Jagan camp recalls.
