Jagan Making Rapid Moves To Shift To Vizag?

The Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government appears to be quietly making swift moves to shift the chief minister’s camp office from Tadepalli in Amaravati to Visakhapatnam as soon as possible, if the reports from the port city are to be believed.

While the construction of the camp office and the related works are going on at a brisk pace, the government has also been taking certain steps to appoint trusted officers in key positions in Visakhapatnam city so as to expedite the works for establishing executive capital sooner or later.

In the latest move, the Jagan government reshuffled the officials working in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation and appointed IAS officers, who have greater expertise in urban development and administration. Some more IAS officers are likely to be appointed in various positions in Vizag, sources said.

While continuing IAS officer Gummalla Srujana as the commissioner of GVMC, the government is appointing eight IAS officers in eight zones of the corporation.

“This is to ensure that there would be a smooth administration in the executive capital. They would also look into the development of the master plan for GVMC, once it becomes the capital,” sources said.

The police administration, too, is likely to revamped thoroughly in the coming days, so that there would be smooth law and order in the executive capital.
