Jagan Getting Ready For Early Polls

YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is learnt to have alerted his party leaders to get ready for the early elections to the state assembly along with Lok Sabha polls.

Jagan, who is presently undertaking padayatra in East Godavari district, reportedly discussed the possibility of holding elections to the state assembly in the last week of November or early December.

Party’s Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy is learnt to have got a hint to this effect from Delhi and he passed on the same to the YSRC.

Sources said Jagan would take another three months to complete the padayatra, as he has to tour three more districts – Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts, apart from completing the tour in East Godavari, which is one of the biggest districts.

It does mean he will hardly be left with two more months to face the elections.

However, sources said he is not unduly worried about the elections. Since he has already been among the people, he doesn’t have to make any extra effort in the campaign.

He can concentrate on the constituencies which he has not covered in padayatra during the electioneering.

The only worry for him is selection of candidates. While he has already finalised them in majority of the constituencies, there are still some troublesome constituencies.

He is now trying to sort them out during the padayatra, say sources.
