Income Tax department officials on Tuesday raided the offices and house of Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP from Khammam Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy in connection with the alleged disproportionate assets charges.
Ponguleti, who got elected on YSR Congress party ticket in 2014, later defected to the TRS. He has been into real estate activity, besides other industries.
The IT authorities swooped on his office at Raghava Infra at Banjara Hills and also his house in Jubilee Hills in the morning and started search operations. Simultaneous raids began at 18 different places in Hyderabad and Khammam, sources said.
According to IT sources, the Raids going on because of irregularity in Tax payment issues.
During the search operation till now, the IT officials recovered several key documents from the raided places.
