Hyderabad: These days, all roads lead to the TRS and TDP, parties with both KCR and CBN engaged in a shameless and relentless pursuit of power. Anyone and everyone, irrespective of their credentials are being lured into the ruling party.
In fact, politicians who couldn’t see eye-to-eye are now in the same party. This is especially more so in the TRS.
Let us take some examples. Former Minister Baswaraju Saraiah, who lost the Warangal East Assembly to Konda Surekha, joined TRS. His arch rival Pulla Bhaskar too joined the party. Earlier, arch rivals in TDP -- Kadiam Srihari and Errabelli Dayakar Rao - joined the party. So were their rivals - Konda Surekha and Konda Muralidhar Rao.
Similarly, the Aanam brothers and their rivals are now in the same party in AP as are Bhuma Nagi Reddy and his rivals. A politician definitely expects something in return for jumping ship.
How can the TRS and TDP accommodate the desires of these people? The answer is quite simple actually: They are banking entirely on the delimitation of seats in AP and Telangana as per the AP Re-Organization Act.
According to this Act, the number of seats in the legislative assemblies of AP and Telangana shall be increased from 175 and 119 to 225 and 153 respectively.
The Centre has ruled out any de-limitation exercise till 2016 but CBN and KCR are working together as a team on this issue to get the job done now.
