A podcast episode featuring claims about actor Allu Arjun has been taken down after the host alleged coordinated online harassment targeting her guest.
Podcaster Sweekriti announced on Instagram that she had removed the video after her guest, Kaveri Baruah, faced what she described as “coordinated harassment” from PR machinery and bot accounts.
“I've removed the video after my guest faced coordinated harassment from PR machinery and bot accounts,” she wrote, adding that the trolling appeared organised and intense.
The episode was subsequently deleted from both Instagram and YouTube.
Sweekriti stated that Kaveri holds a responsible position in a reputed organisation and that she did not want the controversy to affect her professional life.
She maintained that the discussion in the episode was factual and professional, not defamatory, but said protecting an individual’s career was more important than continuing a public confrontation.
In a separate note, Sweekriti alleged that she too had been targeted online, claiming abusive messages and trolling followed the viral spread of the clip.
The controversy began earlier this week when a segment from the podcast circulated widely on social media. In the clip, Kaveri Baruah spoke about an alleged past meeting with Allu Arjun and his team.
She claimed she was provided with a list of 42 dos and don’ts before interacting with the actor, including instructions such as not making eye contact and not shaking his hand.
During the podcast, she described the interaction as highly structured and said multiple layers of management were involved in coordinating the meeting.
Following the viral clip, Allu Arjun denied the allegations. In an official statement, his team termed the comments “completely baseless and untrue,” asserting that the actor has always conducted himself with dignity.
The statement added that legal action for defamation was being initiated against those responsible and urged the public not to circulate unverified claims.
As of now, the full episode remains private. Reports indicate that Kaveri has deactivated her Instagram and LinkedIn accounts amid the controversy.
