The differences between two cabinet ministers from Visakhapatnam – Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu has given enough fodder for the opposition YSR Congress party to run down the ruling TDP.
Though Ayyanna Patrudu did not name Ganta while making allegations that several bigwigs in the government were involved in the multi-thousand crore land scam in Visakhapatnam, Ganta took it seriously and blamed it on Ayyanna directly for tarnishing the image of the city as well as the personal prestige of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
He wrote a letter to Naidu and also leaked it to the media. He said by making wild allegations, Ayyanna had brought bad name to the party. He wanted an inquiry into the allegations made by the cabinet colleague.
Now the question is whom does Naidu take seriously. Obviously, Ganta has the backing of the chief minister since there are allegations that even Naidu’s family was involved in the land scam.
At the same time, he knows any action against Ayyanna would only indicate that the allegations could be true. Moreover, Ayyanna has the backing of NTR family. So, it might spoil the relations within the family as well.
For now, Naidu will try to silence both the leaders. But the issue raised by Ayyanna will remain. Since Ganta also has asked for the CBI probe, the opposition will rake it up again!
