Following KCR's announcement of plans to take over OU lands for housing for the poor, there has been condemnation from all quarters.
The OU students have now resorted to targeting properties purportedly set up on OU land.
Opposition parties have added fuel to the fire with their support to the students and what was unthinkable some time back is now a common occurrence: the burning of effigies of KCR.
Barring KCR himself, it is worth noting that not a single prominent personality has come forward to support KCR in this issue. Almost everyone feels that KCR is in the wrong here.
And it as a cheap move on the part of KCR to term the students as ‘anti-poor’ for opposing the takeover of university lands.
The students are definitely not anti-poor. They come from all walks and sections of life and only want to protect their university lands from being commercialized. Labeling them anti-poor is heinous on the part of KCR and marks a new low in his politics.
