Cong MLA quits party whip post: What's up?

Cong MLA quits party whip post: What's up?

It looks like Congress party MLA from Alampur Sampath Kumar is gradually falling into the trap of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

On Saturday, Sampath gave a rude shock to senior party leaders by resigning from the post of party whip in the assembly.

He said he had resigned from the post in protest against the highhanded behaviour of the party seniors.

“I wanted to speak on the SC/ST sub-plan issue in the assembly as I represent the SC community, but the seniors did not allow me to speak. They have humiliated me,” Sampath said, while quitting the post.

Realising that Sampath resignation would turn advantageous to the TRS party, some senior party leaders tried to pacify him.

They asked Sampath to come to the residence of Jana Reddy to sort out the issue. But, the Alampur MLA left the place in a different vehicle, leaving the vehicle of the party whip at the CLP office itself.

It may be mentioned that KCR has laid trap for Sampath for quite some time, as he is one of the most efficient MLAs of the Congress party.

During the recent survey, too, KCR gave full marks to Sampath saying he is one of the few Congress MLAs who can win the seat again.

During his previous visit to Alampur during Krishna pushkarams, too, KCR gave a lot of importance to Sampath by offering the seat next to him.

He also patted the back of the MLA and praised his efforts on the Pushkaram works. Now, this trap seems to have worked at last!
