Has YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy made a mistake by giving political rehabilitation to so-called senior leaders like Botsa Satyanarayana and Dharmana Prasada Rao, who enjoyed all big positions in the Congress regime?
Well, many of the YSRC leaders seem to be feeling so. According to them, these big leaders have a very bad reputation in their respective constituencies because of the scandals in which they were involved during the Congress regime.
Yet, Jagan gave them all the respect and positions hoping that their experience would help the party during the elections.
However, Dharmana and Botsa proved utter failure in taking up the party programmes in their districts of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram respectively and activating the party cadre.
For example, the YSRC failed miserably in enrolling the people in YSR Kutumbam programme in these two districts. The programme evoked tremendous response elsewhere with a record number of 50 lakh people enrolling themselves.
Naturally, Jagan was upset. He seems to have pulled up the two leaders, albeit in softer tone, keeping in view their seniority. However, he might not spare them if the party continues to fare badly in the two districts.
May be they are in the hit list prepared by Prashant Kishor, Jagan’s political strategist!
