The dreams of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh of getting adequate funds and incentives in the Union Budget were shattered on Saturday as none of the major promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act found mention in the Budget.
f governing the nation is an art of getting your priorities right then surely the BJP government has failed miserably on this front.
It has allotted Rs 50 crore apiece to each of the seven backward districts of Andhra Pradesh amounting to Rs 350 crore and a further Rs 500 crore to bridge the resource gap. So, Rs 800 crore in all!
Now consider the Center’s priorities here: Rs 2200 Crores for Chatrapathi Shivaji Statue in Arabian Sea, Maharashtra (and an additional Z++ security for the statue) and Rs 6000 Crore for Sardar Patel Statue in Gujarat.
Need we say more? Is the BJP showing a conventional North India-South India mindset in dealing with the Southern States?
