BJP planning to say bye-bye to alliance with TDP?

The Bharatiya Janata Party is moving its plans systematically to kick out Telugu Desam Party from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), if the reports coming from the national capital are to be believed.

According to these reports, the BJP leadership is learnt to have come to the conclusion that the only way to strengthen the party and make it grow independently in the southern states is to get rid of unwanted alliances like with the TDP.

The party is under the impression that as long as it has an alliance with the TDP, it cannot have its own identity.

Sources said the denial of appointment to TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah on Tuesday was an indication to the changing stand of the BJP.

Though the TDP sources deny the reports that Naidu had sought an appointment with Modi and Shah, sources said he had indeed sought the time on July 25 itself, but Modi was too busy to give him time.

So, the TDP chief had to return to AP on the same day after meeting Arun Jaitely and Rajnath Singh.

Sources said the BJP is planning to ask its two ministers in the Chandrababu Naidu cabinet – Kamineni Srinivas and Manikyala Rao – to quit their posts, sometime in the end of 2017 or early 2018.

In the meanwhile, the Andhra BJP leaders will step up attack on the Naidu government for its acts of omissions and commissions.

They will also raise the irregularities in the construction of Polavaram project and Amaravati.

Though Modi might not ask the TDP ministers in his cabinet – Y S Chowdary and Ashok Gajapathi Raju to resign, but he will create a situation wherein they would be compelled to quit.

So by next elections, the BJP will contest the polls independently, say sources.
