Azhar Backs Out From Joining TRS!

Apparently failing to strike a deal with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, former Indian cricket captain and Telangana PCC working president Mohd Azharuddin has put an end to the speculation of him joining TRS.

On Wednesday evening, Azharuddin tweeted saying the news reports of him joining the TRS were wrong and baseless. He reiterated that he would continue to be with the Congress.

Earlier, there were rumours in the social media that he had received assurance from TRS about Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat and he might join the TRS sooner or later.

It was even speculated that cricketer has spoken about his intention to KCR when both met at the wedding of daughter of MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

But the cricketer has put an end to all such speculations through his tweet. Meanwhile, it is learnt that Congress is considering fielding Azharuddin from Malkajigiri Lok Sabha Constituency.

TPCC minorities cell chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail also condemned the rumours.

“Azhar spoke to me this morning and denied reports that appeared in a section of media about his likely exit from Congress party to join TRS. Someone has misled the media on this issue," he said.

Sohail strongly condemned the TRS for spreading rumours while targeting many Congress leaders.

He pointed out that a section of media has been publishing stories on likelihood of some Congress MLAs joining TRS.

Similarly, they took the name of Azharuddin to float some baseless and speculative stories in the social media which later hit the headlines of mainstream media.

"Azhar has clearly stated that he would not quit Congress. He told me that while he was the Captain of Indian Cricket Team, there used to be some tough times when team was losing matches. But the entire team remained united to come out of those situations. Therefore, Azhar has clearly stated that there was no question of leaving the Congress party just because it had lost the elections," he said.
