When Andhra Pradesh State government employees demanded a pay hike on par with their Telangana counterparts, it put Chandrababu Naidu in a difficult situation as the finances of Andhra Pradesh are currently in a huge mess.
When this was pointed out to Ashok Babu, he said, “We want our demands to be fulfilled. The financial position of the State is not our concern.”
Finding no other way out, Chandrababu Naidu bowed into the demand of the employees and has conceded a pay hike on par with Telangana employees according to which they got 43% by way of fitment.
Ashok Babu now says, “There is no need for the state's youth to hanker after jobs in MNCs like Google, IBM and Microsoft. Thanks to the generous pay hike and raising the retirement age to 60, working in the AP government is a far better proposition.”
First of all, being the Chairman of the AP NGO’s Association, Ashok says that the financial health of the State is no concern of his. Now he says that the pay hike is generous and youth should look for government jobs instead of private jobs.
