AP Will Get Nothing From Centre, Says JC

Andhra Pradesh will get nothing more from the Centre and it will be a futile exercise to still negotiate with Delhi bosses, according to Telugu Desam Party MP from Anantapur J C Diwakar Reddy.

He said Andhra Pradesh would neither get special category status nor promised funds under special financial package.

“May be, it might release some more money under central schemes, that too, under pressure from the media and people’s representatives. It is waste of time to wage any war against the Centre,” he said, adding that it is better the people of the state give up hope on the Central assistance.

On the other hand, Bharatiya Janata Party MLC Somu Veerraju lashed out at the TDP leaders for blaming the Centre. He alleged that Naidu himself had never insisted on Special Category Status in the past.

He produced evidences to show how Naidu used to say that SCS would not fetch more than Rs 3,000 crore and that state would get more with special package.

“Why nobody has questioned Naidu’s double standards?” he asked.

Veerraju said it was because of his efforts that the Centre had issued an ordinance including Polavaram submergence mandals in Andhra Pradesh.

“Naidu has not done anything for Polavaram, except getting publicity,” he alleged.
