Akhil Akkineni was supposed to do his second movie with director Hanu Raghavapudi. He backed out of Hanu's film at the last minute due to undisclosed reasons. Hanu went onto do that film with Nithin and Akhil moved onto Vikram Kumar’s project.
Akhil’s decision turned out to be a smart one as Hanu failed to impress with Nithin’s film Lie.
Hanu’s last film Krishnagadi Veera Prema Gadha was a good film, but Lie isn’t as entertaining as his previous film.
Lie has been struggling at the box office as it couldn’t compete with the likes of Nene Raju Nene Mantri and Jaya Janaki Nayaka.
Akhil Akkineni is badly in need of a hit after his debut film tanked. Lie would have been a fatal blow to him had he not backed out of it.
Akkineni fans are hoping that Vikram Kumar weaves magic with #Akhil2 like he did for Manam. Akhil’s next is gearing up for release on Dec 22, confirmed producer Nagarjuna.
