The historic 200 year-old Sanga Reddy jail, will be converted into a museum and opened in the first week of May.
It will display the names of prominent people who were imprisoned, right from the Nizam era, and give their details.
Some of the names to be displayed include KCR, Dasaradhi, Kaloji, former chief minister Chenna Reddy and 50 other personalities.
However some big shots who have been in Sangareddy jail and whose names would not be displayed include, Satyam Ramalinga Raju, YS Jagan, Gali Janardhan Reddy, Yasin Bhatkal and Akbaruddin Owaisi. Why were these names omitted?
Prison officials said while preparing the prominent persons list, they checked whether the jailbird contributed to the development of Telangana society or in the fight for the formation of the separate state.
Those jailed for fighting against the Razakars during the Nizam period were also considered. So, this means that Akbaruddin Owaisi has not contributed to the development of Telangana society even though the MIM was initially for a united AP.
Wonder what Akbaruddin will have to say about this.
