A Delhi Situation In Hyderabad

Public welfare in Delhi is the last thing on their minds as the CM Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung continue their fight over who has the real authority in Delhi.

A similar situation could have been witnessed in Hyderabad or might still take place in the near future.

If Naidu is successful in getting section 8 implemented in Hyderabad, the law and order in Hyderabad will be in the domain of Governor who will call the shots.

KCR will not take this lying down and there will definitely be one hell of a squabble. Since, Narasimhan is on good terms with KCR, he allowed the latter complete control over law and order despite numerous pleas by the TDP.

But amid growing signs that Narasimhan will be replaced soon, there is no guarantee that the new Governor will carry on the same kind of relationship with KCR as Narasimhan did. That will then lead to a Delhi kind of a situation in Hyderabad and another bout of whipping up regional passions.

While the TRS says that there is no need to implement section 8 as there has been no law and order problem reported in Hyderabad since bifurcation, the fact of the matter is that the AP Reorganization Act puts the Governor directly in charge and not just when there is a law and order emergency.

If the new Governor feels compelled to use this provision and power entrusted to him, we can witness a ‘Baahubali’ kind of battle, as and when it happens.
