A Congress-Backed Agitation?

A Congress-Backed Agitation?

Despite revoking the suspension of the students, the University of Hyderabad continues to boil with students from across the nation rushing to the university premises and joining the agitation.

The primary demand of course is not an improvement in the infrastructure or better living and working conditions at UoH, but the resignations of the VC, Smriti Irani and Bandaru Dattatreya. In other words: political demands.

It is difficult to believe that these students are converging on UoH with their own finances.

Prior to the Bihar elections, there was a huge outcry over intolerance and a spate of ‘award-wapsis’ which ultimately culminated in the defeat of the BJP there. And stunningly, the ‘award-wapsi’ syndrome disappeared overnight after the electoral results.

The mainstream media has also been a vassal of the Congress for too long. Such a clubbing of forces of the Congress, media and Congress backed student agitations to denigrate the BJP cannot be ruled out.
