YSRC To Stall LS For Raju Disqualification

YSRC To Stall LS For Raju Disqualification

With Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla dodging taking action against rebel YSR Congress party MP Kanumuru Raghurama Krishnam Raju under Anti-Defection Law, the YSRC is planning to stall the proceedings of the parliament.

This was announced by YSRC general secretary and parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy on Friday.

He said it had been a year since the party submitted a petition to the Speaker seeking disqualification of Raghurama Krishnam Raju, but no action had been taken yet.

“On Thursday, too, we submitted a fresh petition to the Speaker with further evidence to prove that Raju has resorted to violation of party discipline and is indulging in anti-party activities. The Speaker has to take firm action against him at least now,” Sai Reddy said.

The YSRC leader went to the extent of saying that if the Speaker did not take action against the rebel MP form Narasapuram before the commencement of the monsoon session of Parliament, the party MPs would take up agitation and would not hesitate to stall the proceedings of the Parliament, if necessary.

Meanwhile, Raghurama Krishnam Raju reacted swiftly on Vijay Sai Reddy’s statement.

He wrote separate letters to the Lok Sabha speaker and chairman of Privileges Committee demanding action against the YSRC general secretary for threatening to stall the parliamentary proceedings.

He said it was not the first time that Sai Reddy had indulged in threatening and intimidating the heads of parliament.

Even in the past, he had made similar comments on Rajya Sabha chairman and now, he was attributing motives to the Lok Sabha speaker.

“It is time action should be taken against Sai Reddy,” Raju wrote in the letter.
