Telugu Desam Party will be completing 40 years of its foundation on March 29 and the party is gearing up for celebrating the event.
Though the party is facing severe crisis in the Telugu states, party president N Chandrababu Naidu is struggling hard to restore its lost glory.
But YSR Congress party general secretary and MP V Vijay Sai Reddy, who doesn’t lose an opportunity to target the TDP, Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh, has used the occasion to make strong comments at them.
“I wish the TDP, which has completed 40 years of its foundation, will continue to be in the opposition for another 40 years. But unfortunately, it looks like the “Tuppu Naidu” (Chandrababu Naidu) and “Pappu Naidu” (Lokesh) will not allow it to hit even half a century,” Sai Reddy said.
He observed that 2024 elections would be the last electoral battle for the TDP and after that the party would drop its gun forever.
The YSRC general secretary ridiculed Naidu for announcing the celebrations of the TDP foundation at New MLA Quarters in Hyderabad, where legendary actor N T Rama Rao launched the party in 1982.
“It is ridiculous that Naidu has chosen the place for celebrations, where he has buried the party deep,” he said.
He sought to know why the TDP could not win even a single seat or a corporator in Hyderabad, where the party was launched.
“Is it not because of the vote-for-note case that Naidu has dismantled the party in Hyderabad and shifted his camp?” he asked.
Sai Reddy said it was unfortunate that Naidu had not even expressed his repentance for betraying his father-in-law N T Rama Rao at least on the occasion of the TDP’s 40th foundation day.
He challenged Naidu to answer to the questions as to why he had lifted prohibition and withdrawn Rs 2 a kg rice scheme introduced by NTR.
