Why is Pawan interested in Amaravati?

When power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan appeard to have fallen apart from the Telugu Desam Party, he was strongly opposing the construction of capital city in Amaravati.

In April 2018, a month after he launched an attack on TDP president and then chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his government, Pawan Kalyan released a book – Yevari Rajadhani Amaravati (Whose capital is Amaravati) written by former chief secretary I Y R Krishna Rao.

In that meeting, Pawan fired at Naidu for ignoring the people’s interests and environmental destruction while building the capital city at Amaravati.

He also felt that centralized development in a single location will lead to negative consequences in future.

It is still fresh in the minds of the people as to how Pawan went round the villages in Amaravati and expressed his solidarity with the people who was being forced to give up their lands for the capital. He criticized Naidu for turning green fields into a concrete jungle.

But, now with Naidu being pushed into the opposition and Jagan getting elevated to power, Pawan Kalyan seems to have changed his tune.

He is now demanding that the construction of Andhra Pradesh capital must continue at Amaravati and advised the YSRCP government against shifting the capital location.

Pawan stated that it just was not an issue of the 28,000 farmers who gave their land for the capital, but an issue for the entire state. The JSP chief also announced that he would visit Amaravati on August 30 and 31.

"People including me don't know what development is going on in Amaravati. What about the money spent so far spent on the project? It is the people's money and not that of the Ministers or Chief Minister," Pawan Kalyan stated.

Now, why this double standards, Mr Pawan?
