This MP Continues To Be Thorn In Jagan's Flesh!

Strange are the ways of YSR Congress party MP from Narsapuram K Raghurama Krishnam Raju. Though being in the ruling party, he doesn’t hesitate to speak against the party stand on various issues.

A few months ago, Raghurama Krishnam Raju defied the party line and opposed the introduction of English as the medium of instruction in place of Telugu.

He created tremors in the party by meeting then BJP national president Amit Shah despite strict instructions from YSRC president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy not to meet the BJP leaders without the knowledge of parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy.

Raju also shook hands hands with Prime Minister Narendra Modi who personally enquired about his well-being while passing through Central hall of parliament.

He also hosted dinner for over 300 party MPs on December 11 without taking permission from the party leadership.

Now, in the latest instance, Raghurama Krishnam Raju strongly opposed the sale of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam assets in Tamil Nadu and Rishikesh, saying it would hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees.

“TTD does not represent the devotees. So, whatever decision it takes does not reflect the devotees’ opinion. I suggest to the TTD not to take any hasty decisions,” he said, adding that it was his personal opinion.

The latest development lends credence to the speculations that Raju is trying to get closer to the BJP. May be, he is of the view that he could get out of the CBI case pending against him for alleged loan default, by coming closer to the BJP.
