TDP's Palla Srinivasa Rao Is The Big Shark In Land Scam

With the state government exposing the land grab by the TDP leaders in Visakhapatnam, the detailed reports have exposed the party’s big sharks in the scam.

According to the initial reports, TDP’s Visakhapatnam Urban unit president Palla Srinivasa Rao emerged as the big shark who grabbed several acres of land in the city, with the connivance of the party leadership in power.

Srinivasa Rao was the one who launched hunger strike against the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant privatisation, but gave up after the strike was broken.

Government lands were grabbed in Visakhapatnam Rural, Bheemunipatnam, Anandapuram, Gajuwaka, Pendurthi, Pedagantayada, Padmanabham, Parawada, Sabbavaram, Anakapalli and Atchutapuram mandals in large scale.

The mandals like Yalamanchili, Atchutapuram, Kasimkota, Gopalapatnam, Seethammadhara and Narsipatnam too were not left but the volume was comparatively less.

While the highest is 64 acres of Poramboku land in Adivivaram village of Visakharural mandal, the lowest was 150 square yards of irrigation tank (Cheruvu) land in Gopalapatnam village.

The nature of the land that was grabbed by the top leaders of the TDP included Poramboku, Konda (Hill) Poramboku, Tank lands, Vagu lands and pathways, not leaving anything in these mandals.

The Jagan Mohan Reddy government started the marathon exercise of taking back the grabbed land with the Gitam University to former MP Sabbam Hari’s house.

Though the TDP made hue and cry over these demolitions and taking back of the encroached or grabbed land, they had to remain silence over a period of time, with the government showing the facts and figures of land grab.

The Jagan Mohan Reddy government has every minute details of the land grab including the survey numbers, the nature of the land and the extent of the land, which had made these leaders to seal their mouths.
