TDP exposes high drama at Jagan's market visit

The YSR Congress party leaders seem to have tried every attempt to highlight the anger of the distressed mango farmers during the visit of party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to Bangarupalem market yard in Chittoor district on Wednesday.

During Jagan’s visit, some mango farmers gave vent to their frustration due to lack of announcement of a remunerative price from the Chandrababu Naidu government, by throwing tonnes of mangoes on the streets ahead of Jagan’s visit to the market yard.

The YSRCP social media activists quickly captured the pictures and videos and posted them on social media saying: “mango farmers are raging with anger.

They are showing their protest against the government by dumping the mangoes on the roads on the occasion of Jagan’s visit.”

In the evening, state agriculture minister K Atchannaidu came up with evidence to prove that it was nothing but a high drama enacted by the YSRCP to defame the government and mislead the public.

Displaying the video to the media, Atchannaidu explained that the tractors were intentionally brought from a 25-acre orchard belonging to YSRCP leader Prakash Reddy and were strategically placed to stage the whole dumping scene at Jagan's arrival.

“They executed a malicious plan, pulling the tractors from the orchard and dumping the mangoes on the road. Shockingly, YSRCP workers were also made to trample them in front of everyone, a disgraceful act unheard of anywhere,” he said.

It was confirmed that the five tractors carrying mangoes were pre-arranged. The identified registration numbers of these tractors are: AP03-AA-0218, AP20-U-9212, AP03-M-018, AP03-S-8542, and AP03-TB-5532.

“The mango transportation and dumping were carried out by persons associated with the YSRCP,” Atchannaid said and disclosed details of where the mangoes were sourced from and who brought them.
