Security enhanced for Kodali and 3 other YSRC MLAs

Nearly a week after Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu broke down following alleged abuse of him and his wife by the YSR Congress party members in the assembly, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government enhanced security to a minister and three MLAs on the ground of increased threat perception.

Acting on a report by the state intelligence wing citing threat inputs, the state government increased the security cover to state civil supplies minister Kodali Venkateshwar Rao alias Nani, representing Gudivada assembly constituency and three other MLAs – Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan from Gannavaram, Ambati Rambabu from Sattenapalli and Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy from Kakinada city.

At present, Kodali Nani enjoys Y category security, with 13 police personnel comprising a personal security officer, and Escort comprising 2 PSOs (in Amaravati), 2 PSOs (district), 1+4 armed guards and 1+3 armed guards (district). Now, this has been enhanced to 17 cops with four more PSOs in the district.

The other three MLAs now enjoy 1+1 security cover by personal security officers. Now, their security has been upgraded to 4+4 personnel.

“Hence, the Unit Officers concerned are requested to provide security immediately as noted above in your respective Districts and Commissionerate and report compliance. The details of the PSOs may be incorporated in the Monthly Reports from the month of November, 2021,” the order said.
