Sai Reddy gets more responsibilities in YSRC

Amidst reports that YSR Congress party general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy’s wings are being clipped, party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy made some sudden changes in his responsibilities.

As per the orders given on April 19, Sai Reddy was stripped of his responsibilities of the party in north-coastal Andhra Pradesh and was confined to coordinating only the party’s affiliated organisations like youth wing, farmers’ wing, women’s wing and labour wing.

However, an order issued on Tuesday evening said Jagan has given additional responsibilities to Sai Reddy. Apart from the affiliated party wings, Sai Reddy would also do the coordination of the regional coordinators and district party presidents.

On the other hand, Jagan has entrusted the task of coordinating with party MLAs and media to his advisor (public affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.

It is a saving grace for Sai Reddy to get the additional responsibilities of coordinating with district party presidents and regional coordinators.

In a way, he has regained his powers to some extent, to the effect that he would have overall control on the party all over the state.

But since many of the district party presidents and regional coordinators are also MLAs, Sai Reddy’s responsibilities would overlap that of Sajjala. It remains to be seen how both of them handle the party affairs.
