Rural Students To Get Urban Touch In AP

The State government had planned to give some urban touch to the students from the rural areas. The government had selected 11,378 schools across the State to receive this benefit.

The scheme would start from the third week of October.

As per the scheme, the students and the teachers from the urban schools will visit a rural school in their vicinity at least three to four days in a month and interact with the rural students.

The teachers from the urban schools too would have similar interaction with their rural counterparts.

This interaction, according to the government, would help the rural students and their teachers update their knowledge and skills.

The exposure, knowledge and skills are somewhat better for the urban students and their interaction would help the rural students improve their skills and knowledge.

Special school committees are being appointed by the State government from the State level to the district level and the school level.

The state government would provide transportation of the students under the programme. The Sarva Siksha Abhiyan would coordinate the programme.

The state government had already started upgradation and improvement of all government schools across the state in the next two years.

The schools would have better buildings and infrastructure with this initiative.
