Respect For Lokesh's Stand: Can He Go Further?

Nara Lokesh gave a message on twitter while tagging an AI-generated video writing, “To my beloved TDP family - While I get the emotion behind such content, personal attacks are never desirable. We may be political opponents, but our public discourse must be grounded in dignity and respect. I request everyone, including our supporters, to avoid amplifying such content. Let us maintain civility even in disagreement, and focus on constructive politics that strengthens Andhra Pradesh.”

His message was thoughtful, mature and much needed in today’s toxic digital climate. As a young leader, Lokesh is setting a refreshing example.

However, this gesture may inadvertently encourage more creators to produce such AI videos, hoping that Lokesh will tag them and give them visibility.

Many online creators thrive on attention from political leaders and celebrities, and this could become an unintended incentive.

If Lokesh truly wants to curb this trend, he may need to go a step further. Filing cases against those from his own party who circulate abusive or defamatory AI content, just as cases are registered against YCP supporters for similar behavior, would send a powerful message.

As a first step, he has to arrest this netizen who posted this AI video. If he does that, Lokesh would earn respect across political lines and be remembered for challenging a harmful trend. A couple of arrests would deter others.

Otherwise, his tweet may be misread as indirect encouragement to create even more such videos.
