In a swift development, rebel YSR Congress party MP from Narasapuram parliamentary constituency Kanumuri Raghurama Krishnam Raju suddenly got discharged from the Military Hospital in Hyderabad where he has been undergoing treatment since May 17.
What is more surprising is that within minutes of getting discharged from the hospital, Raju left for New Delhi in a special flight.
He is likely to get admitted to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi on the pretext of getting better treatment.
In fact, Raju on Monday pleaded with the military hospital authorities to allow him to stay in the hospital for another four days on the ground that he was still feeling pain in the legs and his blood pressure is on the higher side and that he would bear the hospital expenses.
The hospital authorities permitted to stay back in the hospital till Friday, so that he can recover by then. The same was conveyed to the court, where he was supposed to submit the surety papers along with the hospital discharge summary within 10 days of getting the bail.
But Raju suddenly got discharge on Wednesday and his lawyers would submit the discharge summary before Friday.
Apparently, he was scared over the reports that the Andhra Pradesh police might arrest him in some other case and throw him behind the bars, within hours of his discharge.
So, he made swift arrangements for his discharge and even before the Andhra Pradesh police came to know about it, Raju flew to New Delhi in the name of better treatment.
However, the Supreme Court did not quash the CID case against him. It said Raju should cooperate with the investigating officers whenever called. However, the police should give him 24 hours’ time to appear before them.
It remains to be seen how long Raju would stay put in Delhi and dodge the interrogation by the CID in the sedition case.
