PVP Gets Bail, Asked To Surrender

Noted industrialist, film producer and YSR Congress party leader Potluri Vara Prasad (PVP) was on Monday granted anticipatory bail by the Telangana high court in connection with the alleged kidnap of production executive Timma Reddy.

The high court directed that PVP surrender himself before the Jubilee Hills police station within four weeks. Along with PVP, his followers were also granted anticipatory bail and asked to surrender to the police.

In September last, Timma Reddy’s wife lodged a police complaint with the Jubilee Hills police station alleging that PVP and his followers had kidnapped her husband.

Timma Reddy, too, gave a statement before the police that he was kidnapped by PVP and others and was admitted in the government hospital in Vijayawada.

The police had registered a case against PVP, his wife and some others in the alleged kidnap case. They, however, claimed that they had no connection whatsoever with the kidnap of Timma Reddy and had not admitted him in Vijayawada hospital.

Accordingly, they approached the high court for anticipatory bail. Since there are no evidences to prove that Timma Reddy was kidnapped, the high court which had heard the arguments from both the sides, granted anticipatory bail to PVP and others.
