Pawan Kalyan On Deeksha For Hindu Dharma!

Actor and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, who had hitherto been confined to issuing statements and making tweets on various issues, has at least swung into direct action on Wednesday.

Starting 10 am, the power star took up a 11-hour “Dharma Parirakshana Deeksha” (fast to protect Dharma) at his residence in Hyderabad in protest against the alleged attacks on Hindu religious places and destruction of their properties.

Along with Pawan Kalyan, other Jana Sena leaders and cadre took up the deeksha.

The call for the deeksha was given by Jana Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party protesting the burning of a chariot on the premises of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Antarvedi in East Godavari district on Sunday.

Before taking up the deeksha, Pawan held a lengthy discussion with party senior leaders across the state.

BJP state president Somu Veerraju and former president Kanna Lakshminarayana also took up the deeksha at their respective residences.

Interestingly, rebel YSR Congress party MP from Narasapuram parliamentary constituency K Raghurama Krishnam Raju also announced that he would take up eight-hour long deeksha at his residence in New Delhi on Friday.

He said he would sit on a dharna at his residence from 9 am to 5 pm by following all precautions for Covid-19. He condemned the series of attacks on the Hindu temples in the recent past.
