Opinion: Talk some sense, Naidu!

“Is there any State government in India that has reviewed the works done during the previous regime? I am seeing this for the first time. What the industrialists are saying is correct. This is nothing but YSRCP terrorism,” thundered Chandrababu Naidu.

If there is evidence or suspicion of foul play in the contracts awarded by the earlier government, is it wrong to review them? Because, the resources ultimately belong to the people.

If the government and industrialists join hands to swindle the people, there should not be any action taken according to Chandrababu Naidu and it will also affect the investment climate in the State as crooked business houses will no longer want to invest in Andhra Pradesh.

If Chandrababu and his coterie have done nothing wrong, why do they need to fear reviews or inquiries?

If a government has wrecked the economy with its real-estate dealings, then the successive government should do absolutely nothing about it.

In other words, what Chandrababu Naidu is asking for is total immunity from the consequences of his decision-making as Chief Minister better referred to as ‘Zero-accountability’.

Well, Chandrababu Naidu would do well to remember that India is a democracy and we are talking about people’s wealth here, not his ancestral lands in Kuppam or Heritage property. He has to be accountable.
