One MP in, one MP out of YSRCP!

In a rapidly changing political developments in poll-bound Andhra Pradesh, the ruling YSR Congress party witnessed entry of an MP from rival Telugu Desam Party and exit of its own MP on Wednesday.

As expected, Telugu Desam Party MP from Vijayawada Kesineni Nani met YSRCP president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at Tadepalli in the afternoon and formally joined the party.

Nani, who was clearly told that he won’t be given the TDP ticket for Vijayawada Lok Sabha seat, announced his resignation from the party as well as his Lok Sabha membership, has been hinting at joining the YSRCP.

His daughter Kesineni Swathi, a corporator in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, also resigned from the TDP. She is also joining the YSRCP on the lines of her father.

Around the same time, YSRCP parliament member from Kurnool Sanjeev Kumar announced his resignation from the party and also his Lok Sabha membership. He said he would submit his resignation from his MP seat in the first week of February.

Stating that he could not do anything for the development of Kurnool in the last four and a half years, Sanjeev Kumar said he could meet him only twice during this period.

“When I raised the issue of developmental works in the constituency, Jagan told me that they would be taken care of by the MLAs,” he said.

He said he was not sure of the party ticket for the Kurnool LS seat for the second term, as there were indications from the party that another person would be given the opportunity.

“I was not given any such indications from the party. I shall decide on my future course of action after discussing with the people and my followers in the constituency,” he added.
