Now, Lingamaneni faces heat from I-T department!

It looks like all those who were closer to the previous Telugu Desam Party government led by N Chandrababu Naidu are facing the heat from investigation agencies.

Weeks after conducting searches in three infrastructure companies and offices and residences of those closer to the TDP bosses unearthing a Rs 2,000 crore tax evasion racket, the Income Tax authorities on Wednesday targeted the two prominent groups of educational institutions – Sri Chaitanya and Narayana, whose promoters were also closer to the TDP.

On Thursday, it was the turn of prominent infrastructure company and real estate developer Lingamaneni Estates Private Limited, promoted by Lingamaneni Ramesh, to face the heat from the Income Tax authorities.

The I-T authorities have conducted a series of raids on the Lingamaneni’s offices and seized several documents and hard discs.

They are presently questioning the employees of Lingamaneni’s company office at Benz Circle in Vijayawada.

Lingamaneni Ramesh had been in the news for the last few months, following the notices served by the YSR Congress party government over illegal constructions in Amaravati, including the river-front bungalow leased out to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu.

He has also been facing investigation into the alleged insider trading in and around Amaravati region. The Special Investigation Team is probing into these allegations of insider trading.

He is presently fighting the case in the high court over demolition of Naidu’s residence.
